We work in a climate where we all work together and do what is best for students. “The first component is that we have a very caring and dedicated staff. Last year, when we were nominated by the Ohio Department of Education, we set to work on the lengthy application, answering questions about Indian Riffle School,” says Beiter, adding, “Over the years, we have figured out a formula that has been successful for our students, and this formula consists of three major components. “The Indian Riffle staff and I are humbled and excited about this national award. Getting the good news that Indian Riffle Elementary is one of the top performing schools in the country was the culmination of a year’s worth of work on the part of principal, Debbie Beiter, and her team of staff members who worked on the application. This prestigious award is a true reflection of each and every one of you and the amazing job you do every day with your kids here at Indian Riffle. “When I come to this school, I see engaged staff members, kids who are on task, and everyone having fun learning. “We could not be more proud of you,” said Scott Inskeep, superintendent of the Kettering Schools, said to Indian Riffle’s staff, who were gathered together for the official surprise announcement. Indian Riffle Elementary School has been designated an "Exemplary High-Performing School," a designation that places it in an elite group of Ohio's highest performing schools. This coveted award affirms the hard work of Indian Riffle staff and families and the ongoing support of the entire Kettering community for high-quality, high-performing schools. Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos announced that the school is one of 349 school nationwide and only 16 schools in the State of Ohio to be named a National Blue Ribbon School. Staff members were cheering and confetti was flying at Kettering's Indian Riffle Elementary School Monday afternoon, as U.S. PaySchools Central for Lunch and School Fees.

It will complement the upgrade that was installed a number of years ago at the playground area for kids ages 5-12. The playground equipment at Indian Riffle Park is getting a facelift!
