The challenge was inspired by Blanco Brown’s chart-topping smash hit, The Git Up, which commands listeners to: The world-famous dance challenge has been littering the internet with videos of people trying to do the “cowboy boogie”, and this line dancing version is hands down one of the best of them. With view counts ranging in the tens of thousands on several of their video lessons, we think it’s safe to say that these folks are good at what they do! And what they decided to do recently was show the world how they like to do the ‘Git Up’ dance challenge. Though you’ll find dozens of videos for different dances, from the waltz to salsa, the bulk of their video content is comprised of line dancing tutorials.

The dance hall is based out of Renton, Wa, and welcomes people of all ages and walks of life that want to learn how to dance. That’s apparently how these fine folks felt when they took to the floors of the Rockin’ Horse Dance Barn to learn the steps to the Git Up line dance. If you prefer doing things in person, we’d be willing to bet there’s a dance hall with a teacher in town that would love to give you a few lessons. If you don’t already know how, there are countless videos on YouTube that will teach you. The best part about line dancing, though, is that it’s so easy to learn. Then there are those line dancing divas that take center stage as they cut loose with fancier footwork. Anyone can participate and most of the steps are simple…most of them. This particular dance has been keeping people on their toes, novice or expert, for decades now and with good reason it’s one of the most fun dances there is. Even if, by some strange chance, you have no idea of what the ‘Git Up’ dance challenge is, you are almost sure to know about the glory that is line dancing.
